Ready. Set. Go.
So here we go, you ready for this?...Good, I'm not too sure either. But one thing I am sure of is if you need a good laugh, an occasional cry, or even a random ewww moment you'll find it here. My life is not censored AT ALL! So if you feel you are not emotionally ready for my sometimes twisted sense of humor(I'm working on my potty mouth), stories of life on the farm(sometimes it's not all bunny rabbits and kitty cats), my rabbit stew recipes(yes we do eat meat), or my unique parenting style(sometimes I make myself LOL) here's your chance to abandon ship...
YAY! SO GLAD YOU STAYED! WE ONLY USE SAFETY PINS FOR LAST MINUTE SPIRIT DAY OUTFITS AND BABY SHOWER GAMES HERE!
So here's my story:
About 5 years ago I had one of those ephiphany moments, you know the ones where you realize everything is just how it's suppose to be. Sure my life has had it's fair share of struggles, everything from health to finances to Dr. Phil worthy drama, but at that moment I decided that no matter what, no one is getting out of here alive, so make it memorable.
Fast forward to today, I live in Norco, Ca, a small town in Southern California known also as Horsetown USA. I live with my personal Pinterest contractor (man he despises that website) AKA my husband of 13 years and our two wonderful sometimes smart-ass children.
I'm guessing you've probably concluded we have a farm. It's pretty much like Noah's ark on steroids over here, we have a couple of everything plus some. I am definitely the animal lover in the family. You know how you sneak the Target bags out of the car and into the house before your significant other sees? yeah I do that with animals and then I rehearse the whole "this isn't new, it's been back here for a long time" line I think it's loosing its effectiveness though. Some of our animals are lifers and some are loved for a shorter time and then harvested to feed my family (I warned you, we eat meat).
We love to travel and by we I mean I love to travel and my husband just shakes his head and goes along with all my crazy ideas. I am the queen of budget travel. I will exhaust every last offer code and even occasionally beg and plead to get the best deal because I feel life experiences teach you so much more than reading about it or watching it on the discovery channel.
On to my kids...I absolutely freakin love being a mom! They are what gives my life purpose and also what turns my hair grey. I am that mom that makes sure my kids spirit day outfits is on "fleek" did I use that right?? I love the looks on their faces when I use all these "sick" words, sometimes it almost brings tears to their eyes and I am sure they are tears of joy but their friends are usually in the car so I know they hold it back. I am that mom that allows my children to make mistakes and then guides them when they ask. I am that mom that wants to hold on so bad yet I know my job is to raise two independent human beings. So you may see my children doing chores and quite possibly saulking the entire time but don't worry they'll be ok and they'll still love me.
Well that's my life in one long ass story...don't worry I'm a crappy writer so from here on out you'll get pictures and bullet points.
Yours truly,
The Urban Farm Mom
